New Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment For Rugged and Heavy-Duty Towing!

The Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment has finally arrived.

The Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment inserts into the Steel Weigh Safe Slider, and is compatible with trailers that use a coupling lunette ring. With the Steel Weigh Safe slider, you can know what your tongue weight is in order to make sure that you are within 10-15% of your GTW for your rugged and heavy-duty towing.

So, what is a pintle hitch?

A pintle hitch is particularly useful for rugged, heavy-duty towing as it can provide a bigger range of motion, handle off-road terrain, and have higher towing capacities.

The way a pintle hitch works is pretty simple. It will typically have a locking arm that opens and closes. This arm will go through a lunette ring, which is the coupling component of the trailer. The locking arm will then shut over and through the lunette ring, securing the attachment.

The Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment functions the same way. The locking arm will attach through the lunette ring coupler, and shuts on the cradle portion. Once shut, the pintle mechanism automatically locks in place, but also has a safety pin for added security.

Are pintle hitches noisy?

Pintle hitches can be more noisy when compared to regular drop hitches. This is due to the loose coupling that allows more articulation while towing as well as towing on uneven/off-road terrain.

Who uses pintle hitches?

Pintle Hitches are commonly used with heavy-duty utility trailers for the construction, landscaping, and military industries.

Can you use the Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment with the Aluminum Weigh Safe Drop Hitch?

NO! The Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment is only compatible with the Steel Weigh Safe Drop Hitch.

Why Steel?

Steel is especially beneficial when it comes to heavy duty towing. It has great wear-resistant properties and has the ability to tow higher amounts of weight,  which is why we use it for our True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch and Pintle Attachment!

Can the Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment be used in the RISE position?

NO! The Weigh Safe Pintle Attachment is only compatible in the DROP Position and CANNOT be used in the rise position.
