So you get the gist, right?

Whether you do or not, you’ll still want to take a closer look at ball mounts from Weigh Safe vs. B&W Hitches and their differentiators…

The Weigh Safe Ball Mount is the first ever trailer hitch on the planet with a built-in scale that measures tongue weight.

With the built-in scale on our Weigh Safe drop hitch, you’ll know exactly how much tongue weight you have. You always want to make sure that your tongue weight is 10-15% of your gross trailer weight (GTW)

Tongue weight can make all the difference, especially in safety and performance. Knowing your tongue weight could even save your life…

No other brand has this feature.

IMPROVED SAFETY AND BETTER PERFORMANCE? CHECK

We offer the Weigh Safe Ball Mount in aluminum and steel, yet we sell almost 10 aluminum hitches to every one steel hitch. Wanna know why?

First off, we use 6061 air-craft grade aluminum for our drop hitches, which is one of the highest grades out there and provides many benefits. This grade of aluminum allows us to hold a very tight tolerance throughout the entire hitch since it is easier to machine, (and not to mention that it has a bold, clean, machined finish).

Second off, aluminum is corrosion resistant. Are we telling you that your aluminum Weigh Safe Drop Hitch will never rust? Yes, we are.

That means you can keep that bold, clean, machined finished.

But what if I want a black drop hitch?

You’re in luck. Check out our Cerakote Aluminum Drop Hitch, which is the same aluminum Weigh Safe drop hitch, but with a black cerakote coating that is baked onto it for added protection.

And of course, makes your vehicle look even more spectacular. This way you can have a black drop hitch but still avoid dealing with corrosion, thanks to aluminum!

GOOD LOOKIN’? CHECK

To top that off with a cherry, every Weigh Safe Drop Hitch comes with two tow balls: either 1-⅞” and 2” tow balls, or 2” and 2-5/16” tow balls, both in stainless steel.

We use stainless steel because of its corrosion resistance and towing capabilities, and performs much better compared to chrome-plated.

The BW drop hitch comes in steel with chrome-plated tow balls, which will eventually corrode. To keep the steel hitch or chrome-plated tow balls in good shape, usually you’ll have to apply grease. But with our aluminum hitch and stainless steel tow balls? No corrosion. No grease.

EASY MAINTENANCE? CHECK

Every Weigh Safe Drop Hitch includes the Dual Pin Key Lock.

Securely lock your slider portion with the tow ball onto your draw bar by inserting the Dual Pin Key Lock through both components.

You can also purchase the Hitch Locking Pin that can be keyed alike to that same exact Dual Pin Key Lock. To find out more, please click here

The BW Hitch doesn’t come with any lock. Sure, you could add a hitch pin with it, but you won’t be able to get any locks keyed alike.

RATINGS WITH RANGE

The weight ratings for the aluminum Weigh Safe Drop Hitch provide extra towing capacities compared to the B&W (or BW) Drop Hitch.

When it comes to evaluating drop hitches from Weigh Safe vs. B&W Hitches, f you take a look at the ratings below, you can see that the Weigh Safe 2″ and 2.5″ ratings are larger than BW’s. As 2.5″ receivers are becoming seemingly more popular, the 2.5″ rating for 18.5k pounds is a huge upgrade in the towing industry, proving more range for towers like you.

Let’s talk about adjustability.

Adjustable drop hitches are an excellent tool in the towing industry and make it easy for people like you to tow different trailers with different towing vehicles. Compared to BW, we offer longer drop lengths. We offer our aluminum drop hitches in 4”, 6”, 8”, and 10” drop lengths, each with 1” increments for adjustability. Talk about range! All you have to do is adjust the drop hitch to the correct height for the appropriate application that you are towing with that day.

EASY ADJUSTMENT? CHECK

Not only is the Weigh Safe Adjustable Drop Hitch adjustable, it’s interchangeable! Let’s say you bought a Weigh Safe Drop Hitch for your towing vehicle that has a 2” receiver, and later on you buy a new vehicle with a 2.5” or 3” receiver. You can simply buy a new draw bar component with the new shank size and the other components will still fit (Just keep in mind the different weight ratings of the new draw bar)!

LET’S WRAP IT UP.

We’re not going to tell you what is the best drop hitch out there, but we’re confident that ours knock the ball out of the park. Compared to BW Hitches or other brands, there are features of the Weigh Safe Ball Mount that none other offers.

The patented Weigh Safe Adjustable Drop Hitch is the ONLY ball mount in the industry that has a built-in scale to measure tongue weight. With components made of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum and stainless steel tow balls, this drop hitch will offer you “Towing Peace of Mind” with every towing journey.
